New Year, New Bod!

My friend, Sue, brought these pretty flowers to me.
She must have known that the end of our kitchen bar was empty
and looking bare.
Fresh flowers just make you feel good.

Speaking of feeling good......I'm hungry! Not really starving, but thinking of food and wanting to eat. Especially a few of these chocolate kisses that are sitting in the candy dish right next to me!
But no, I WILL NOT CHeAT!
Along with my friend and exercise partner, Rosie, we have committed to two weeks on this
HCG diet. Today is the third day, but the first day of only 500 calories. I take 10 drops of the HCG three times a day...no breakfast and only 3 ozs. of meat, veggie, fruit and 1 wheat melba toast. Plus 2 quarts of water a day and all the black coffee I want.
The drops help to curb your appetite while taking 1 to 3 lbs. off a day.
I'm sure I am craving all the wrong things just cause I know I can't have them. But I would almost kill for a piece of chocolate right now. I think I better get into my studio tomorrow and get busy on a project to keep my mind occupied.
I also have to take one of all these pills everyday....geez, what's that for? To keep me alive?

But wait.....I read the 42 pages of instructions wrong....I don't get 3 ounces of meat twice a day,
I GET 3 1/2 ounces! Woo-Hoo!!!
This tiny piece of broiled chicken (no oils allowed) is the extra ounce I
got to eat tonight to make up for the 1/2 oz. I missed on lunch and dinner.
Heaven!!!

So, as I shared in an earlier post, we had a really fun Christmas this year.
One of the special moments was when Hubby and I each received a gift
from our 7 yr. old grandson, Coleman. His school had a Christmas Shop and the
kids got to bring money to school and shop for their families and wrap the gifts.
Here we are opening our presents from Coleman...

He picked out (all by himself) a nice key chain for Papa that said
Best Grandpa In The World on it. I got a "beautiful" blue teddy bear ring!

Of course, I immediately put it on and wore it. It fit perfectly and it
just made my Christmas.

It's these sweet innocent moments that just make a grandparent's heart melt.
It was so special that he included us in his family shopping.
And he even managed to keep it a secret right up to the end.
(He was so excited over his shopping trip that when he brought the gifts home a couple weeks before Christmas he made his parents and brother open theirs right then).
OK, time to try to refocus my mind and be satisfied with this cup of coffee (no flavor, no milk, no sugar.....no nothing, ugh!)
XOXO Nancy
